about
Séa Tanaka is a BFA Communication Design student at
Parsons School of Design, currently based in New York City.
She grew up in Japan and moved to the United States in
2022 to pursue her studies. Her work spans editorial design,
publication, research, and interactive/web design, with an
interest in how design operates across cultural and
contextual boundaries.
She approaches graphic design as a way of observing,
organizing, and translating information. Séa is particularly
interested in picking up on unspoken cues embedded in
everyday life and bringing them forward through design.
By focusing on subtle gestures, relationships, and overlooked
details, she aims to create work that quietly communicates
meaning rather than asserting it.
